Dr. Patricia Brown
Dr. Patricia A. Turner-Brown is a native of Detroit, Michigan, and an ordained minister in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. She is married to Dr. Lance Edmond Brown.
Dr. Turner-Brown is a graduate of Western Michigan University (Bachelor of Music), Wayne State University (Master of Music), Turner Theological Seminary (Master of Divinity), and the Ecumenical Theological Seminary-Detroit, Michigan-(Doctor of Ministry)
Dr. Turner-Brown has worked in many capacities with Public Awareness Theater Productions, Inc. including business manager, approving performance contracts, casting, travel arrangements, marketing, and overall assistant.
A retired educator, Dr. Turner-Brown taught instrumental and vocal music in Michigan, Georgia, and Louisiana. She is also an accomplished violinist, having performed in numerous orchestras including the Detroit Symphony Civic Orchestra, Southern Great Lakes Symphony, and Instruments of Praise String Quartet (Michigan), the African American Philharmonic Orchestra and Black Rhapsody String Quarter (Atlanta), and the New Orleans Civic Orchestra (Louisiana). She is also a prolific choral director.
Dr. Turner-Brown is author of WHAT WILL GET US THROUGH? MESSAGES OF HOPE, PEACE, AND ENCOURAGEMENT, a compilation of messages written during the first wave of the Covid 19 Pandemic. As the pandemic continued to escalate, two questions came to mind: When will this virus end, and what will get us through? WHAT WILL GET US THROUGH? MESSAGES OF HOPE, PEACE, AND ENCOURAGEMENT seeks to answer these questions.
Dr. Turner-Brown is affiliated with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Sigma Alpha Iota Music Fraternity for Women, and Theta Phi Honor Society (Divinity/Theology).
Her guiding motto is “If you make the effort, God will make the way.”
